Business: Transcription Services
Sector: Law Firm
Client Profile: Top 200 law firm with over 180 staff in offices across 5 locations in London and the South East. The Client is a respected and very successful firm that has over the years invested in Information Technology. When we first met in the middle of 2004, the Client had just rolled out Digital Dictation throughout the firm and had also implemented workflow systems from Big Hand, a market leader in digital dictation workflow.
The initial trial was with a Partner in the Private Client Group and the success of this trial led to a few Solicitors from the group using Escribe's services to address work overloads. Subsequently Escribe had the first of many meetings with Client's IT manager who took the initiative internally to restructure the process flow and this led to (a) The IT manager taking responsibility to set up new users internally and (b) to centralise the file upload and download process. Later an administrator was identified within the specific offices, and this individual would send one consolidated file everyday with a defined service level and would download the file from Escribe's server, thereby eliminating all email communication with users. This practice continues even today and given the Client's satisfaction with the quality and timeliness of the service, the Client has restructured their internal resources and extended the service to three of their five offices in each of which they have appointed a coordinator. The Client is also examining the possibility of allowing the company remote access to their servers as that would help eliminate the need for someone to upload and download files and make the process even more efficient.
In the recent past the Company has started to do a lot of value added general secretarial work for the Client such as copy typing, document conversions and the like and the quality of this output has been a result of both the skills and the knowledge we have gained about the Clients business and the processes we have put in place at the delivery centre.
